Equipment

  • 1 pizza stone preheated in oven
  • 1 Rolling Pin
  • 1 Baking Sheet lightly floured

Ingredients

Pizza Dough

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt

Sauce and Toppings

  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 1/2 cup sliced bell peppers
  • 1/2 cup sliced red onions
  • 1/4 cup black olives
  • Fresh basil leaves

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, combine flour, yeast, and salt. Add warm water and olive oil, then mix until a dough forms. Knead on a floured surface until smooth, about 5 minutes. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes.
  • Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) with a pizza stone inside to heat.
  • Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface to a 12-inch round.
  • Place the dough on a floured baking sheet. Spread tomato sauce evenly over the surface, leaving a 1-inch border. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
  • Arrange bell peppers, red onions, and olives over the cheese. Add fresh basil leaves as desired.
  • Transfer the pizza to the preheated pizza stone in the oven. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling.
  • Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Slice and serve hot, garnished with additional basil if desired.
  • Store leftover pizza in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven for best results.
