Equipment

  • 1 baking sheet or pizza stone
  • 1 Mixing Bowl large
  • 1 Rolling Pin

Ingredients

Dough

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt

Toppings

  • 2 cups fresh spinach leaves
  • 2 large tomatoes sliced
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. Add the warm water and olive oil, mixing until a dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  • Wash and dry the spinach leaves. Slice the tomatoes thinly and set aside. Shred the mozzarella cheese if not pre-shredded.

Assembling the Pizza

  • Preheat your oven to 475°F. Punch down the risen dough and roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness. Transfer the dough to a baking sheet or pizza stone.
  • Brush the rolled-out dough with olive oil. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese evenly over the dough. Arrange the spinach leaves and tomato slices over the cheese. Sprinkle the dried oregano and basil on top.

Baking

  • Place the pizza in the preheated oven and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly. Watch closely to avoid burning.

Serving

  • Allow the pizza to cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve hot, garnished with additional fresh basil if desired.

Storage

  • Place any leftover slices in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or a toaster oven for best results.
