Equipment

  • 1 pizza stone for optimal crust texture
  • 1 oven preheated to 475°F
  • 1 Mixing Bowl for dough preparation

Ingredients

Pizza Dough

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 1 tsp salt

Pizza Toppings

  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 2 large ripe tomatoes sliced
  • 8 oz fresh burrata cheese
  • Handful of fresh basil leaves

Instructions

Dough Preparation

  • In a large bowl, combine the flour, yeast, and salt. Gradually add the warm water, mixing until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
  • Place the kneaded dough in a lightly oiled bowl. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm area for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.

Assembling the Pizza

  • Preheat your oven to 475°F. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to fit your pizza stone or baking sheet.
  • Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the rolled-out dough. Arrange the tomato slices on top, followed by pieces of burrata cheese.
  • Bake the pizza in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling.

Finishing Touches

  • Remove the pizza from the oven and immediately sprinkle fresh basil leaves over the top. Allow it to cool slightly before slicing.

Serving

  • Slice the pizza into 8 pieces and serve hot. Enjoy with a glass of wine or your favorite side dish.

Storage

  • Place any leftover pizza slices in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F for about 10 minutes for best results.
