Ingredients
  

Skillet

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 yellow onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 0.75 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 cup long grain white rice
  • 2 cups chicken broth

Instructions
 

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add ground turkey and cook until lightly browned and cooked through.
  • Add onion and cook until softened.
  • Add garlic and cook briefly until fragrant.
  • Season with Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
  • Stir in tomato paste until combined.
  • Add rice and stir to coat evenly.
  • Pour in chicken broth and bring to a gentle simmer.
  • Cover, reduce heat, and cook until rice is tender.
  • Remove from heat, rest briefly, then fluff and serve.

Notes

For best results, keep the skillet covered while the rice cooks. Add a splash of broth when reheating leftovers.
