Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 425°F. Spread the broccoli florets on a baking sheet, drizzle with 3 tablespoons of olive oil, and season with salt and pepper. Toss to coat evenly. Roast for 20-25 minutes, until tender and caramelized.
  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water and drain the rest. Set aside.
  • Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sauté minced garlic for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Add roasted broccoli and cooked pasta. Toss to combine and adjust with reserved pasta water to reach desired consistency.
  • Remove from heat. Stir in lemon juice, zest, and Parmesan cheese. Toss until well combined. Garnish with fresh basil leaves.

Serving

  • Divide the pasta among serving bowls. Garnish with extra Parmesan and basil leaves if desired.
