  • 2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 1/2 cups water 110°F
  • 2 tbsp olive oil plus more for bowl

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, combine 3 1/2 cups of flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Stir to blend.
  • Add water and 2 tablespoons of oil. Mix until the dough comes together.
  • Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm area until doubled in size, about 1-2 hours.
  • Punch the dough down to release air, then divide it into portions. Shape each portion into a ball and let rest for 15 minutes.
  • On a floured surface, roll out each dough ball to about 12 inches in diameter for a thin crust.
  • Preheat your oven to 475°F with a baking sheet or pizza stone inside.
  • Transfer the dough to a pizza peel and add your desired toppings.
  • Slide the pizza onto the preheated baking surface and bake for 12-15 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
  • Remove from the oven, slice, and serve hot.
  • Store leftover pizza in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 2 months.
