Equipment

  • 1 pizza stone or baking sheet
  • 1 Saucepan
  • 1 Mixing Bowl

Ingredients

Dough

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Creamy Garlic Sauce

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Toppings

  • 8 oz thinly sliced beef
  • 1/2 cup sliced onions
  • 1/2 cup sliced bell peppers
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded provolone cheese

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit until foamy. Add flour, olive oil, and salt, mixing until a dough forms. Knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth, then let rise until doubled.
  • Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute. Gradually whisk in milk, cooking until thickened. Stir in Parmesan cheese, season with salt and pepper.
  • Season beef slices with salt and pepper. In a hot skillet, sear steak on both sides until browned. Remove from heat and set aside.

Serving

  • Preheat oven to 475°F. Roll out the dough on a floured surface. Spread garlic sauce over the base, then layer steak, onions, peppers, and cheeses. Transfer to a baking sheet or pizza stone.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and cheese is bubbly. Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Storage

  • Store leftover slices in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven for the best texture.
