Equipment

  • 1 oven preheated to 400°F
  • 1 Baking Sheet lined with parchment paper
  • 1 round cookie cutter 3-4 inch diameter

Ingredients

Pizza Dough

  • 1 pound pizza dough

Toppings

  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 2 fresh tomatoes sliced
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Preparation

  • Roll out the pizza dough to a thickness of 1/4 inch. Use a round cookie cutter to cut out mini pizza bases, approximately 3-4 inches in diameter. Place these on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Preheat your oven to 400°F. Pre-bake the dough rounds for about 5 minutes to ensure a crispy crust.

Assembling the Pizzas

  • Spread a thin layer of tomato sauce over each pre-baked dough round. Be careful not to overdo it, as too much sauce can make the pizzas soggy.
  • Top each pizza with a few slices of fresh tomato and a generous sprinkle of shredded mozzarella cheese. Add a couple of basil leaves on each pizza.
  • Drizzle a small amount of olive oil over the assembled pizzas and season with salt and pepper to taste.

Baking

  • Return the pizzas to the oven and bake for an additional 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the crust is golden brown.

Serving

  • Let the pizzas cool slightly before serving. Serve warm for the best experience.

Storage

  • Place any leftovers in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 2 days. Reheat in the oven to maintain crispiness.
