  • 2 cups cooked shredded chicken
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F.
  • Shred the cooked chicken into bite-sized pieces if not already done. Set aside.
  • In a 9x13 inch baking dish, spread a layer of marinara sauce, then add the shredded chicken evenly. Sprinkle with Italian seasoning.
  • Top the chicken with mozzarella cheese and then sprinkle parmesan cheese over the top. Repeat layers if needed.
  • Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  • Allow to cool for a few minutes before garnishing with fresh basil leaves. Serve warm.

  • Serve the chicken parmesan with a side of garlic bread or a fresh green salad.
