Equipment

  • 1 pizza stone preheated
  • 1 Rolling Pin
  • 1 Mixing Bowl large
  • 1 Baking Sheet lined with parchment

Ingredients

Dough

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt

Sauce

  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

Toppings

  • 8 oz fresh mozzarella sliced
  • 1/2 cup sliced pepperoni
  • 1/4 cup sliced black olives
  • 1/4 cup roasted red peppers
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, yeast, and salt. Gradually add warm water and olive oil, stirring until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  • Preheat your oven to 475°F. Place the pizza stone in the oven to heat up.
  • In a small bowl, mix marinara sauce with oregano and garlic powder. Set aside.

Assembling the Pizza

  • Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out onto a floured surface to your desired thickness.
  • Spread the sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border for the crust. Add sliced mozzarella evenly over the sauce.
  • Top with pepperoni, olives, roasted red peppers, and any other desired toppings.
  • Transfer the pizza onto the preheated stone and bake for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.
  • Remove from oven, garnish with fresh basil, and let cool slightly before slicing and serving.
  • Store leftover pizza in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven for best results.
