Equipment

  • 1 pizza stone preheated
  • 1 Mixing Bowl large
  • 1 Skillet

Ingredients

Dough Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup warm water

Turkey Meatballs

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Pizza Toppings

  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup sliced bell peppers
  • 1/4 cup sliced onions

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine yeast, sugar, and warm water. Let stand until frothy, about 5 minutes. Add flour, olive oil, and salt. Mix until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  • In another bowl, combine ground turkey, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well and shape into small meatballs. Cook in a skillet over medium heat until browned and cooked through, about 10-12 minutes. Set aside.
  • Preheat the oven to 475°F with the pizza stone inside. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to fit your pizza stone or baking sheet. Transfer the rolled dough onto the preheated stone.
  • Spread marinara sauce evenly over the dough. Arrange cooked turkey meatballs over the sauce. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the top, followed by bell peppers and onions.
  • Place the assembled pizza in the oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly and melted.

Serving

  • Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool slightly before slicing. Serve with a side salad and a refreshing drink.

Storage

  • Store any leftover pizza in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave before serving.
