Equipment

  • 1 pizza stone preheated
  • 1 Mixing Bowl large
  • 1 Rolling Pin

Ingredients

Pizza Dough

  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt

Toppings

  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tbsp fresh basil chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh oregano chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh thyme chopped

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a bowl, combine yeast, sugar, and warm water. Let sit until foamy. In another bowl, mix flour and salt. Add yeast mixture and olive oil to flour, stirring to form a dough. Knead for 10 minutes, then let rise for 1 hour.
  • Preheat your oven to 475°F with a pizza stone inside to ensure it is hot enough to bake the pizza evenly.
  • Once risen, punch down the dough and roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
  • Spread ricotta cheese evenly over the rolled dough. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese and top with chopped herbs. Adjust the amount of herbs to taste.

Baking

  • Transfer the assembled pizza to the preheated pizza stone. Bake for 15-20 minutes until the crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.
  • Allow the pizza to cool for a few minutes before slicing to let the cheese set slightly.

Serving

  • Slice the pizza into 8 pieces and serve warm. Pair with a fresh salad or roasted vegetables for a complete meal.

Storage

  • Wrap any leftover slices in aluminum foil and store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven for best results.
