Equipment

  • 1 pizza stone
  • 1 Rolling Pin
  • 1 Mixing Bowl large

Ingredients

Pizza Dough

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 cup warm water 110°F
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt

Pizza Toppings

  • 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh oregano chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh rosemary chopped
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 clove garlic minced

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a small bowl, dissolve sugar in warm water and add yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  • In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil, stirring until a dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for about 8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  • Preheat your oven to 475°F. If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat.
  • Punch down the dough and roll it out on a floured surface to a 12-inch circle.
  • Transfer the rolled dough to a pizza stone or baking sheet. Spread marinara sauce over the dough, sprinkle mozzarella and parmesan cheeses, and add fresh herbs and minced garlic.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and cheese is bubbly.

Serving

  • Let pizza cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve warm and enjoy your homemade Italian herb pizza.

Storage

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven for best results.
