Equipment

  • 1 pizza stone preheated
  • 1 Mixing Bowl large
  • 1 Rolling Pin

Ingredients

Dough

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup warm water 110°F
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Toppings

  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 8 oz fresh mozzarella sliced
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until it becomes frothy. Add the flour, salt, and olive oil, and mix until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  • Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat.
  • Roll out the dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness. Transfer the dough to a pizza stone or baking sheet.
  • Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the surface, leaving a small border around the edges. Arrange the fresh mozzarella slices on top, followed by the Parmesan cheese.
  • Bake the pizza in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.
  • Remove the pizza from the oven and sprinkle with fresh basil leaves. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Serving

  • Slice the pizza into 8 pieces and serve hot. Enjoy your homemade fresh mozzarella pizza with your favorite sides and drinks.

Storage

  • Wrap any leftover pizza in aluminum foil or place it in an airtight container. Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven for best results.
