Garlic butter chicken cutlets are a quick and comforting skillet dinner made with tender chicken cooked in rich garlic butter and Italian herbs. This easy recipe is perfect for busy weeknights when you want a flavorful homemade meal.

Ingredients
  

For the Chicken

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts sliced into cutlets
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/3 cup all purpose flour for dredging
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

For the Garlic Butter Sauce

  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • fresh parsley chopped, for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Slice or pound the chicken breasts into thin cutlets.
  • Season the chicken with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder, then lightly dredge in flour.
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet and cook the chicken cutlets until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  • Lower the heat and melt the butter in the skillet.
  • Add the garlic and Italian seasoning and cook briefly until fragrant.
  • Return the chicken to the skillet and spoon the garlic butter over the cutlets.
  • Finish with lemon juice and garnish with parsley before serving.

Notes

For a lighter version, reduce the butter slightly and add a splash of chicken broth. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to three days.
