Flatbread Dough

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 3/4 cup warm water

  • 2 cups cherry tomatoes halved
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 8 oz fresh mozzarella cheese sliced
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves torn

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, yeast, and salt. Add warm water and olive oil, mixing until a dough forms. Knead for 8 minutes until smooth. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes.
  • Once risen, roll the dough into a large rectangle or circle on a floured surface, about 1/4 inch thick.
  • Preheat your oven to 425°F and prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Transfer the rolled dough to the baking sheet. Evenly distribute halved tomatoes and minced garlic over the dough. Top with mozzarella slices.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until the crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.

Serving

  • Remove from oven and let cool slightly. Sprinkle torn basil leaves over the top. Slice and serve warm.
