Equipment

  • 1 pizza stone or baking sheet
  • 1 Pizza Peel for transferring pizza
  • 1 Mixing Bowl large

Ingredients

Dough

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3/4 cup warm water

Sauce

  • 1 can 14 ounces crushed tomatoes
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt to taste

Toppings

  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup pepperoni slices
  • 1/4 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1/4 cup sliced bell peppers

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. Add olive oil and warm water, stirring until a dough forms. Knead on a floured surface until smooth and elastic. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 30 minutes.
  • In a saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant. Stir in crushed tomatoes, sugar, oregano, and salt. Simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  • Preheat your oven to 475°F. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness. Transfer to a pizza stone or baking sheet. Spread the sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a border for the crust.
  • Sprinkle shredded mozzarella over the sauce. Add pepperoni slices, mushrooms, and bell peppers evenly across the pizza. Be mindful not to overload the pizza with toppings.
  • Place the pizza in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Let the pizza cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving. Enjoy with a side salad or your favorite beverage.
  • Store leftover pizza slices in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Reheat in a preheated oven for best results.
