Equipment

  • 1 grill pan
  • 1 Mixing Bowl

Ingredients

Chicken

  • 1 lb chicken breasts sliced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp shawarma seasoning

Shawarma Sauce

  • 1/2 cup yogurt
  • 2 tbsp tahini
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Wrap Assembly

  • 4 flatbreads
  • 1 cup lettuce shredded
  • 1 tomato sliced

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine chicken, olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, and shawarma seasoning. Mix well to coat the chicken evenly. Let it marinate for at least an hour in the refrigerator.
  • In another bowl, combine yogurt, tahini, lemon juice, and minced garlic. Season with salt and pepper. Stir until smooth and set aside.

Cooking

  • Preheat a grill pan over medium-high heat. Grill the marinated chicken slices for about 6-8 minutes on each side until fully cooked and golden brown.
  • Once grilled, let the chicken rest for a few minutes to maintain its juiciness before slicing.

Assembly

  • Lay a flatbread on a clean surface. Place grilled chicken slices down the center, drizzle with shawarma sauce, and top with shredded lettuce and tomato slices. Roll the wrap tightly.
  • Serve the wraps immediately while warm. They pair well with a side salad or soup.
  • Store any leftover components separately in airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
