  • 12 oz linguine or spaghetti
  • 1 lb shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Clean and devein the shrimp, then season with salt and pepper. Set aside.
  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and reserve a cup of pasta water.

Cooking

  • In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  • Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook until pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove shrimp from skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add heavy cream and lemon juice, stirring to combine. Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
  • Return shrimp to the skillet with the sauce. Add cooked pasta and toss to coat. Use reserved pasta water to adjust the sauce consistency as needed.
  • Season with salt, pepper, and lemon zest to taste. Garnish with parsley and red pepper flakes if desired.

Serving and Storage

  • Serve the pasta hot, garnished with additional Parmesan cheese and lemon wedges if desired.
  • Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
