Equipment

  • 1 Large skillet for sauce
  • 1 Large pot for pasta
  • 1 Colander for draining pasta

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 12 oz pasta of choice
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 5 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 can 15 oz diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil chopped

Instructions

Preparation

  • Gather all ingredients and chop the fresh basil. Mince the garlic cloves.
  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook until al dente according to package instructions. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water and drain the rest.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
  • Stir in the diced tomatoes and let them simmer for about 5 minutes to meld the flavors.
  • Reduce the heat and slowly pour in the heavy cream, stirring continuously until the sauce begins to thicken, about 10 minutes.
  • Add the drained pasta to the sauce, tossing to coat. Use reserved pasta water to adjust the sauce consistency as needed.
  • Stir in the Parmesan cheese and chopped basil. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Serving

  • Serve the pasta hot, garnished with additional basil and Parmesan cheese if desired.

Storage

  • Transfer any leftovers to an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 3 days. Reheat gently on the stove or microwave when ready to serve.
