Equipment

  • 1 Large skillet
  • 1 pot for boiling pasta
  • 1 Colander

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 8 oz fettuccine or spaghetti
  • 1 lb large shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

Preparation

  • Boil a large pot of salted water. Cook fettuccine or spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute. Add shrimp and cook until pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove shrimp and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add more butter if needed. Pour in heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in Parmesan cheese and season with salt and pepper. Stir until the cheese has melted and the sauce is smooth.
  • Add cooked pasta to the skillet with the sauce. Toss to coat the pasta evenly. Return the shrimp to the skillet and combine thoroughly.
  • Garnish with chopped parsley and additional Parmesan cheese before serving. Serve immediately for the best flavor.

Storage

  • Transfer leftovers to an airtight container and refrigerate for up to three days. Alternatively, freeze for up to one month.
  • Reheat gently on the stovetop over low heat, adding a splash of cream or milk to restore the sauce's creaminess. Stir frequently.
