Equipment

  • 1 Large skillet with lid
  • 1 mixing spoon
  • 1 measuring cups

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 chicken breasts sliced
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Preparation

  • Season the chicken with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook until golden brown on both sides. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add onions and garlic. Sauté until onions are translucent and garlic is fragrant.
  • Add orzo to the skillet, stirring to coat with oil. Pour in chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Cook until orzo is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed.
  • Return the chicken to the skillet. Stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese. Cook until the sauce thickens slightly and the chicken is fully cooked.

Serving

  • Serve hot, garnished with additional Parmesan cheese and fresh herbs, if desired.

Storage

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat thoroughly before serving.

Notes

Pro Tips: Stir frequently to prevent the orzo from sticking. Use freshly grated Parmesan for the best flavor. Ingredient Substitutions: Substitute half-and-half for heavy cream for a lighter dish. Use gluten-free orzo if needed. How to Serve: Serve with a side salad or steamed vegetables. Storage & Freshness: Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat in a skillet, adding a splash of broth if needed. Make-Ahead Tips: Prepare the chicken ahead of time and refrigerate. Combine with cooked orzo and sauce when ready to serve.
