Equipment

  • 1 pizza stone optional for a crispy crust
  • 1 Rolling Pin
  • 1 Baking Sheet if no pizza stone is available

Ingredients

Pizza Dough

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar

Toppings

  • 8 oz burrata cheese
  • 3 ripe tomatoes sliced
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Preparation

  • Dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water until foamy. Combine with flour, olive oil, and salt, and knead into a smooth dough.
  • Place dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for about an hour until doubled in size.
  • Preheat your oven to 475°F. If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat.
  • Slice tomatoes and drain on paper towels. Tear burrata into pieces. Gather fresh basil leaves.

Assembling the Pizza

  • Punch down the dough and roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness. Transfer to a pizza stone or a baking sheet.
  • Layer sliced tomatoes over the dough, followed by torn burrata. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling.

Serving

  • Top the baked pizza with fresh basil leaves. Allow it to cool slightly before slicing.

Storage

  • Wrap leftover slices in aluminum foil or place in an airtight container. Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
