Equipment

  • 1 Baking Sheet
  • 1 Rolling Pin
  • 1 Mixing Bowl large

Ingredients

Dough Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet active dry yeast 2 1/4 tsp
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt

Pizza Toppings

  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 1/2 red bell pepper sliced
  • 1/2 green bell pepper sliced
  • 1/2 cup mushrooms sliced
  • 1/4 cup red onion thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup black olives sliced
  • 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes halved
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy. Add olive oil and salt, then gradually mix in the flour until a dough forms.
  • Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place it in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for about 2 hours or until doubled in size.
  • While the dough is rising, prepare your vegetables. Slice the bell peppers, mushrooms, and onions. Halve the cherry tomatoes and slice the olives.

Serving

  • Preheat your oven to 475°F. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness and place it on a baking sheet. Spread the pizza sauce over the dough, then layer with mozzarella cheese followed by all the vegetables. Sprinkle with Italian seasoning.
  • Place the pizza in the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
  • Slice the pizza into 8 pieces and serve hot. Enjoy with a side salad or your favorite beverage.

Storage

  • Allow any leftover pizza slices to cool completely, then store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • To reheat, place slices on a baking sheet and warm in a preheated oven at 350°F for about 10 minutes or until heated through.
