Equipment

  • 1 pizza stone for best results
  • 1 Mixing Bowl large
  • 1 Rolling Pin

Ingredients

Pizza Dough

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Pizza Toppings

  • 1 1/2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese grated
  • 1/2 cup mixed fresh herbs basil, oregano, thyme, rosemary
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. Add warm water and olive oil, and mix until a dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  • Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) to ensure it's hot before baking the pizza.
  • Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to your desired thickness. Transfer to a pizza stone or baking sheet.
  • Spread ricotta cheese evenly over the dough, leaving a small border. Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese, then add fresh herbs and black pepper.

Serving

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before slicing.
  • Slice the pizza and serve warm, garnished with additional fresh herbs if desired.

Storage

  • Place any leftover slices in an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven for the best texture.
