Equipment

  • 1 pizza stone for a crispy crust
  • 1 Mixing Bowl large
  • 1 Rolling Pin

Ingredients

Dough Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet active dry yeast 2 1/4 tsp
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 3/4 cup warm water

Pizza Toppings

  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 1/4 cup pepperoni slices
  • 1/4 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1/4 cup bell peppers sliced
  • 1/4 cup onions sliced
  • 2 tbsp olives sliced
  • 2 tbsp fresh basil chopped

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, yeast, salt, and sugar. Slowly add warm water and olive oil, mixing until a dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about an hour, or until it doubles in size.

Assembling the Pizza

  • Preheat your oven to 475°F. If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat along with the oven.
  • Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness. Transfer the dough to a piece of parchment paper for easy handling.
  • Spread tomato sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border for the crust. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese generously over the sauce.
  • Evenly distribute the pepperoni, mushrooms, bell peppers, onions, olives, and basil over the cheese. Ensure an even spread for balanced flavors.

Baking

  • Slide the parchment paper with the pizza onto the preheated pizza stone or a baking sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.
  • Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve warm and enjoy.

Storage

  • Place any leftover slices in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven for best results.
