Ingredients
  

For the Pasta Salad

  • 12 oz short pasta such as farfalle or fusilli
  • 2 cups fresh ripe tomatoes chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves torn by hand
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta until just tender. Drain and let cool slightly.
  • Place chopped tomatoes in a large mixing bowl and add minced garlic.
  • Add torn basil leaves, olive oil, salt, and black pepper, then mix gently.
  • Add the cooked pasta to the bowl and toss until evenly coated with the tomato mixture.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning if needed, then let rest briefly before serving.

Notes

This pasta salad tastes best at room temperature. If made ahead, add a small drizzle of olive oil and fresh basil before serving to refresh the flavors.
