  • 1 block feta cheese Use a good quality feta for the best flavor.
  • 2 cups cherry tomatoes, halved Fresh, ripe tomatoes work best.
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil Extra virgin olive oil preferred.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Can be adjusted to taste.
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano Fresh herbs can be used for a different flavor.
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh basil leaves, for garnish Add just before serving for freshness.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a baking dish, place the block of feta in the center.
  • Surround it with halved cherry tomatoes.
  • Drizzle olive oil over the feta and tomatoes.
  • Sprinkle the minced garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper evenly over the top.

Cooking

  • Bake for 25 minutes, until the feta is soft and the tomatoes burst.
  • Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.

Notes

Baked feta is best enjoyed fresh, but leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. Reheat in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes. For variations, consider adding olives, spinach, or using goat cheese instead of feta.
