Ingredients
  

For the Chicken

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

For the Sour Cream and Onion Sauce

  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 yellow onion thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp dried onion flakes
  • 1/2 tsp dried parsley
  • 1/4 tsp paprika

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and lightly grease a baking dish with olive oil.
  • Cook the sliced onion gently in olive oil until softened and lightly golden.
  • Season the chicken breasts with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
  • Arrange the chicken in the baking dish.
  • Mix sour cream, cooked onions, dried onion flakes, dried parsley, and paprika until smooth.
  • Spoon the sauce evenly over the chicken.
  • Bake uncovered until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce is lightly set.
  • Let rest briefly before serving.

Notes

Greek yogurt can replace part of the sour cream for a lighter sauce. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to three days.
